Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Paro [Arrival] ~ Thimphu
Received by our representative. Freshen up at the Hotel. After lunch: transfer to Thimphu (65 km. 2 hours drive) Overnight: Hotel
Evening: reception/dinner with cultural entertainment.

Day 02: Thimphu ~ Gangtey
En-route: stop at Dochula for tea/coffee and view the eastern Himalayan mountain range. Also visit Punakha Dzong and continue on to Gangtey. Overnight: Guest House

Day 03: Gangtey ~ Gogona [start trek]
After an early breakfast see the black-neck cranes and leave for trek. Gangtey - Gogona (16 km. 5-6 hrs walk) Alt. of Gogona is 3,000 m. This is a moderate trail which leads through meadows and fields, then ascends to the Tselela Pass - 3320 m. Overnight: Camping

Day 04: Gogona ~ Khotokha (16 km. 5-6 hrs walk)
A gentle climb leads to Shobjula (alt. 3,500 m) and then descends to a wide-open valley. Overnight: Camping

Day 05: Khotokha ~ Chuzomsa ~ Paro
A short climb to the Tashila Pass (alt. 2,800 m.Walk down through ever changing vegetation into the valley of Dhang Chu. From Chuzomsa, transfer by coach to Paro (55 km. 5-6 hrs drive) En-route: visit Punakha High School.
Evening: stroll through Paro town.
