Equipment List For Expedition

We recommend you bring the following essential items of clothing and gear, but it is important  that you don't bring a surplus. Please remember that most international and domestic flights have a weight allowance of 20 kg. If you arrive with huge amounts of equipment, excess baggage and extra porter charges will be your responsibility.

Mactrek and Expedition will provide all group gear, including good quality tents and camping/kitchen equipment. Please let us know if you like to rent particular items of personal gear and clothing.

Summit pack with at least 65 liter capacity (can also be used as day pack) Large robust canvas bag/hold all or kit bag (for transporting gear on trail
Small duffle bag with lock (for storing excess gear & travel clothes in hotel) 1 set of Windproof/waterproof shell gear (jacket & over trousers)
Good 4-season, 0° to -10° F sleeping bag Karri mat or Thermarest Pad (with repair kit)
1 Fleece or pile jacket, mid to heavy weight Trekking pole (s)

Trekking clothes (e.g., 2 shorts, 2 T-shirts, 1 trousers/synthetic pants, etc.) 2 Bandanas 1 Sun hat
Double plastic boots (with 1 pair extra laces) 2 One liter water bottles
1 Pair gaiters (good quality) 1 Pee bottle (if you use one)
Walking Boots or trekking shoes 1 Gas lighter, 1 Pocket knife

1 Lightweight sandals 1 Head lamp (plus spare battery/bulb)
Compression stuff sacks 4 Garbage bags (good quality)
1 Balaclava (wool/fleece) 2 tubes Sun cream (minimum 40 SPF)
4 pairs of thin polypropylene socks/liners 2 tubes Lip Cream (minimum 40 SPF)
Glacier goggles/glasses (with side covers) 1 First aid kit (small, simple, lightweight): personal needs, aspirin, moleskin/foam, hand sanitizer, etc.
