Ensconced in the shadow of the Rolwaling Himal, this remote Himalayan valley lies on east of Kathmandu The most popular villages in the Rolwaling valley. Beding (3510m) and Na Gaun (4120m). Trekkers may spend a few days in the Rolwaling area ascending to the Na Yak pastures at 4700m. Here trekkers are greeted by a spectacular panorama of the Gauri Shanker and Menlungtse Peaks.
Above Na Gaun, the trail meanders up to a high lake named Chodalpa (4540m) and up to the lateral moraines of the Rolwaling glacier below the Rolwaling icefall (5181m). After two days of rugged glacier walking one reaches high Tashi Lapcha Pass (5755m). On the other side of the Tashi Lapcha, the trail drops down into Thame village (3790m) on the Khumbu valley. From here, one
can trek to the Everest Base camp, then fly out to Kathmandu from Lukla.
